Another brilliant quote from a dead dude

20. May 2009

Last Christmas I was gifted a daily desk calendar featuring quotes from the 20th Century’s most brilliant commedian, George Carlin. I’ve been sharing some of the shorter quotes via Twitter, but today’s entry was a bit long and so wonderful that I’m sharing it via my blog:

To my way of thinking, men have only one real problem: other men. That’s where all the trouble starts. A long time ago, men gave away their power. To other men: princes, kings, wizards, generals, and high priests. They gave it away, because they believed what these other men told them. They bought the okeydoke. The bullshit. Men always buy the okeydoke when it comes from other men.

Man, I miss that dude.

Hi, that goes for us women, too … the biggest stumble block is not enemies or indifference, but our own beliefs.
I would like to thank you for Odyssevs the rebel. Very inspiring and intelligent work. I am enjoying the read a lot.
I wrote a short review on it on and used a page from your story to illustrate it. I hope it was okay. And I hope you will write a lot more tales!

Glad you like the story. Although, I have to credit Steven Grant with the clever story and witty dialog. My job is to lay it out into pages and draw the thing.

Which you do excellently! When I read it, I feel like you have taken the beautiful greek vase decorations of past time, and translated it to your very own version. I also like the spirit in the characters, you really make them expressive and individual. Again, “Odyssevs the rebel” is magnificent!
