What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
At the cafe, medium shot of Merry and Pablo at the table. The waitress is serving them slices of pie.
Pablo: Merry, we humans have a dirty little secret.
Pablo: To a degree, we are pack animals – maybe even herd animals – by nature.
Panel 2
Flash-back scene, illustrating Pablo's words: a half-dozen neolithic-type, brown-skinned men are fighting a large bear. One of the men is clearly directing the others.
Caption (Pablo): 'At one time, this allowed us to take down larger animals that threatened us or that we needed for food.
Caption: 'The down side is that the pack mentality is inconsistent with individual liberty.'
Panel 3
Back to the present. Pablo waves his pie fork with a flourish as he speaks.
Pablo: Every pack has to have a leader and it has to have followers.
Pablo: Congratulations, Merry, you are now the leader of the pack.

Panel 4
Focus on Merry, who looks alarmed.
Merry: No! No Way! I don't want to be a leader or a follower, for that matter!
Merry: I don't want that power over anyone!
