Naming Movies August 14, 2006
….I had some brief correspondence this morning from a friend of mine in Arizona, making a joke about a recent movie. I responded with something I’ve thought several times about that movie, but haven’t expressed publicly before now.
….My family will tell you that I have a sort of penchant for renaming movies to more accurately describe their content. For example, _Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home_, properly retitled, becomes _Save the Whales Or We’ll Kill you_.
….For what it’s worth, the movie my friend mentioned, _Brokeback Mountain_ is _not_ about _cowboys_, gay or otherwise, at all. It’s about _sheepmen_ (Ack, tooey!), …
