When I write about firearms in my novels, I usually like to use
something unique, but real. A good example is Win Bear’s Smith &
Wesson, a big, no-nonsense Model 58, aka the .41 Magnum Military &
Police.
When I finally write _Sweeter Than Wine_, my protagonist — a veteran
of World War II kept eternally young by something (not entirely
unpleasant) that happened to him in a wine cellar in Nazi-occupied
