A funny smell was the first thing I noticed as I woke from a dark unconciousness. Was it toast? Was it coffee? I couldn’t tell. But I was hoping for coffee. My eyelids were like sand bags, and moving into anything beyond a horizontal position was challenging. Gravity was stronger than me, and I landed on the floor, my eyelids leading the way.
The smell of coffee grew stronger.
Odd that the floor would be wet with coffee. I could feel it on my cheek and my hands. Maybe this wasn’t coffee after all. Oh that’s right. I forgot to let the dog out. Oy.
Larry, you’re crazier than I am.
Also, I know where you sleep. So don’t even think about not letting the dog out at night. I’ll be watching you.
