What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Wide panel/establishing shot, Guy Caillard's knife-fighting class. Actually, it's Bryce Carson's class – Bryce is 40-ish, physically fit, mixed African/Chinese descent, friendly attitude. Bryce and his students are wearing sweat-clothes with cloth belts, and Chinese-style cloth slippers, and each wields a 'red knife,' which is a plastic, soft-tipped replica of a 'fighting knife,' such being a knife with a double-edged, six-inch blade, a short hand guard, and a six-inch handle. Since we're not doing full color, you can't actually make these red knives red, but do your best to make them look like plastic. There are only three students: One is Donielle, a plain young woman a bit on the pudgy side; Guy, and young Wally Cooper, now about 14 Earth years, who Bryce is introducing.

Bryce: Time to start the knife-fighting class, and today we welcome our new student, Wally Cooper.

Panel 2
Three-shot of the students. Donielle on the left, Guy in the center, Wally on the right. Guy reaches out with his left hand and condescendingly pats Wally on the head.

Guy: Ah, young Sv. Cooper. Lost interest in pranking newcomers, I hope?

Panel 3
Wally pokes the end of his practice knife into Guy's chest in a quick 'touché' move, catching Guy flat-footed. Donielle giggles.

Wally: Fortunately for you, yeah.
