What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
The Brothers still standing at the shuttle landing site, considering their situation. Bert on the left, Ernie on the right, patting his left chest with his right hand.

Bert: Tell me you have your Bluetooth on?

Ernie: Nope, it's right here too.

Panel 2
Distance shot of the two brothers, from a high angle about 200 yards away. We see some of the curvature of the planetoid Ida, emphasis is on how alone they are on this desolate rock.

Ernie: Brother, if we get out of this alive, I am going to upgrade my 'ock' with a built-in Tanglenet comm.

Panel 3
Diagrammatic, cut-away side view of Ernie's head, showing the outline of his skull, a tiny 'occipital computer' embedded in the occipital bone in the back of his skull, and some thin wiring leading from the 'ock' to the surface of his brain.
Caption: An 'Ock' is an Occipital Computer, a tiny device implanted in the occipital bone in the back of Ernie's skull. The computer is controlled through a neural interface with his brain. Ocks are becoming increasingly popular among Belters and Martians, because they are very useful. Ernie acquired his some time after meeting Tobikuma Kobayashi on The Little Prince.
