3. Odysseus' smile waver, he's vaguely puzzled about her point. She seems more serious now too, concerned.
ODYSSEUS 7
Not really. Why?
CIRCE 8
Have you ever heard of Herakles?
ODYSSEUS 9
Strong bastard? Met him once. He joined up against Troy, looking for glory. Once we pitched tents he lost interest and took off.
4. Odysseus lays his head back and looks up wistfully at the night stars.
ODYSSEUS 10
Not that I didn't want to. Should have.
ODYSSEUS 11
You know when Agamemnon came for me, I tried to fake him out?
5. FLASHBACK – ITHACA – DAY. As the great lords of Greece – AGAMEMNON, MENELEUS, AJAX, etc., all proudly decked out in their war armor – watch in befuddlement as a naked Odysseus, his eyes wild and unfocused, froth flecking from his lips, relentlessly pushes a great plow through fields.
CAPTION 12
‘Don't know what startled them more, me frothing at the mouth or one of the great Greek lords actually doing work.’
CAPTION 13
‘That damn Agamemnon, though… Don't know why I thought he'd be as stupid as his brother…’
