1. PENELOPE enters, gracing neither of them with so much as a glance. Make this a tall, large panel, presenting the queen in full arraignment. We should see a bit of Teano kneeling on the left and Telemachus standing on the right.
PENELOPE
Tyeano, leave us. This way, Telemachus.
2. Telemachus follows his mother into an ante-chamber, while we see Tyeano exiting through another doorway in the background. Penelope doesn’t look at her son.
TELEMACHUS
Mother, that girl –
PENELOPE
I heard. Forgive her dreams, they’re all she has. And she’s right.
3. Penelope walks up a stairway, Telemachus trailing her like a duckling.
PENELOPE
Even as queen, I have no choice – Ithaca must have a king. I can marry, and give my husband the throne, or someone will kill me and take it. But before long Ithaca will again have a king.

4. Close-up on Telemachus, looking both angry and dismayed by what he’s hearing.

TELEMACHUS
My father is king!
