Closeup centers on Lia. Tarrant is behind her and we see him over
her shoulder. They both look at the reader.

Tarrant: 'Or we'll be dead.'

Lia: 'Or we'll be dead. Captain Krumm -- Phoebus -- pray sail at once
to the Jendyne Empery-Cirot. Find me this damned ship, this dagger
pointed at the heart of the Monopolity. Destroy it. Mr. Tarrant -- '

Tarrant: 'Hanebuth.'

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

Lia, full height, back to reader. On her right, facing her, stands
Tarrant, toward whom she points. On her left is Krumm.

Lia: 'Hanebuth will accompany you, disguised as a common deck hand.
He will be your eyes and ears among the crew.'

Krumm: 'But Ceo, I have never -- '

Closeup, Krumm and Lia nose-to-nose. Krumm has to look down, Lia
has to look up. Nevertheless, as always, she's clearly the one in
charge.

Lia: 'Lia. You've known me too long, dear Phoebus, and in too many
stations of life, not to call me by my given name.'

Krumm: 'Thank you -- Lia -- for the buttering-up. It brings out the
color in my eyes. But I've no ship of my own, nor have I ever felt a
need to spy upon my -- '

Closeup on Lia.

Lia: 'I'll give you a ship, Phoebus, fully provisioned, the swiftest
three-decker I can find. Keep her afterward as your compensation. And,
excepting Hanebuth here, you may choose your own crew.'

Krumm (from out of panel): 'But why -- ?'
