With great effort, Agamemnon twists the sword, and Ajax’s eyes roll up in his head as his limbs go limp. Ajax lies dead on the floor of the tent as Agamemnon wipes the blood off the sword with Ajax’s cloak. Odysseus looks a little ill.
AGAMEMNON
Don’t look so offended. The damn crybaby would’ve gotten violent about it, given half a chance.
ODYSSEUS
You’ll have a hard time explaining that.
Agamemnon and Odysseus exit the tent.
AGAMEMNON
I’ll pay some poet to cook up a good story. Something glorious and melancholic. People love that. Now go make me rich as… well, rich as Priam, I suppose…
(Agamemnon walks off)
When I get home the first thing I’ll do is take a real bath…
