What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Guy's office at the King's Court. Same description as before, except that he has added a few personal decorations near the desktop computer. Include a scale-model Eiffel Tower paperweight. Three or four framed photos on the wall, plus a placard reading “Chancellor of the Exchequer.” (We may not see all of this in the first panel.)

Reggie is standing next to Guy who is seated at his computer desk. Guy is looking down at the PDA on his wrist.

Reggie: Still have that United Worlds-issue PDA?

Reggie: Most immigrants ditch theirs and get Belter-made hardware.

Panel 2
Reggie and Guy.

Reggie: It's not chauvanism, mind you. Those UW-made Comms are made to be open to UW snooping. They're not secure.

Panel 3
Medium shot of Guy seated, contemplating his fancy wrist-PDA.
Guy: That may be, but this one also contains codes giving me access to UWRS channels. Should we need to parlez with the Terran government, this could be useful.

Panel 4
Reggie is turning to leave. Guy is returning his attention to the computer.

Reggie: In that case, go see Bert and get your PDA hacked to make it secure against UW snooping, all right?

Guy: Oui.
