What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Wide panel. In the center, Babbette the Elder sits down across from Guy at the table. He’s looking sullen, staring down at the coffee cup he’s holding in one hand, about to take a sip. At the far right and left sides, Emily and Babbette stalk away (as best the can in Cererean gravity), casting eye-dagger over their shoulders at one another.

B the elder: Sorry about that, Agent Caillard. Those girls know better than to snoop on people’s private business.

Guy: I suppose there is something to be said for child labor after all.

Panel 2
Two-shot of B the Elder and Guy. We’re looking at her over his shoulder as he sips his coffee. She’s smiling warmly.

B the elder: Y’gotta understand -- in a small community like ours, people tend to take more of an interest in each other’s problems.

B the elder: It has its good points – we have a social support system that’s better’n anything back on Terra.

Panel 3
Reverse angle. Over Babbette’s shoulder, Ernie Guzmán suddenly appears next to Guy, laying a friendly hand on his shoulder. Guy jerks in surprise, sending the coffee in his cup flying into the air.

Ernie: Guy! Heard your gal took off! Tough break, man!

Babbette: On the other hand …
