Leon: Yes, I'm going to make you a hero.
Leon: Here's your cover story. Remember when I had that meeting with you right after you were elected?

Taylor speaks through the screen.
Taylor: Yeah, I thought you were just there for the Lincoln's bedroom contributor perk. You didn't really have anything substantive to say.
Taylor: In retrospect, I guess it was a bit odd.
Panel 3
Zoom out so we see Leon floating in the ISS.
Leon: Right, but it was part of the groundwork I was laying for this... event.
Leon: You see, when you are asked about all this, you will remember that you and I discussed stealing a march on the Chinese. You authorized this secret mission.
Leon: However, you stipulated that it would have to be done entirely with private funds and 'not on the taxpayers' dime. The voters will love you for that.

A shot ot Pres Taylor again, softening his mood, but still warning.
Taylor: You know, Leon, there are other ISS treaty partners who want to shoot you down.

Leon: I know, but I think I can deal with them. I am setting up a conference call for the treaty member reps.
Leon: I suggest you let Weiss at NASA do the honors for the US. I guarantee you will look more statesman-like when the dust settles.
