They stroll out from the tent and through the vast tent city the Greeks have erected on the Trojan beach, in view of their great warships. In the other direction lie the great walls of Troy, ominous and impassible.
AGAMEMNON
And what good’s one more corpse to me? The kid was supposed to be immortal, not the fucking walking dead. You never did want to join this war, did you, Odysseus?
(Odysseus says nothing)
I’m not going to hold it against you.
ODYSSEUS
No. I didn’t.
AGAMEMNON
I remember you trying to get out of it. But of all Greece’s warriors, you were the one I’d never have gone to war without. Do you know why?
ODYSSEUS
I couldn’t begin to guess.
AGAMEMNON
Because you’re the one who’ll win it for me.
