The Transcript For This Page

PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

Inside the conveyance, on a circumferential couch reminiscent of
the projectile spaceship in Jules Verne's novel, the three men seat
themselves. Their luggage is piled together in the middle of the
little room.

Here and there are portholes.

Krumm: 'She may look small an' delicate an' pretty, but she's hard
enough t'roller-skate on ... '

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

Two-shot, Krumm and Demondion-Echeverria. Through the porthole
between them, the curved horizon of the city-covered planetary surface
can be seen.

Krumm leans forward, arguing. Demondion-Echeverria delicately
examines the cuff of his lace sleeve.

Krumm: 'An' she would never ask anybody t'do anything she was
unwillin' t'do herself.'

Demondion-Echeverria: 'Is that so?'

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)

Back off so we can see Tarrant, sitting on the floor, leaning
against the seat, reading an old-fashioned book.

Krumm leans back, stretches his legs out and puts his hands behind
his head.

Krumm: 'Let me tell you a little story about the Ceo Lia Woodgate
Wheeler. I can attest to its truth, havin' been there meself on Old
Hanover, watchin' her back, as it were.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)

Closeup on a smug-looking Demondion-Echeverria.

Demondion-Echeverria: 'How is it that your rustic accent always grows
thicker when you're telling a tall tale?'

Krumm: 'Never mind that. Early In her tenure as Ceo, some halfwit in
the popular media -- 'course they're all halfwits in the popular media
-- had read a little ancient history.'
