The Transcript For This Page

PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

The panels look normal now, and we are lost in Krumm's story. Lisa
speaks to the men, who are getting their second surprise of the
evening.

Lia: 'Although I am loathe to reveal the intimate facts of my personal
life, gentlebeings -- and I offer you no encouragement to publish them
-- I am no virgin.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

She holds up her left hand, palm toward herself, on which there is
a large ring on the third finger.

Lia: 'I have once been most joyously betrothed and married and, more
tragically, widowed.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)

Memory panel within a memory panel. A somewhat younger Lia in a
torn and battered shift. She's bruised and very thin. She's sitting on
the edge of a peasant's wooden bed with a mattress and no other
bedclothes. The room is very plain, and built of _legos_.

She wears a steel collar around her throat, with a chain that
leads to a big screw-eye set in one post of the bed frame.

Lia (in the form of narrative): 'I have been taken and held captive,
with all of the horror that implies for a Hanoverian female.'

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)

Now she's on the floor, sitting on her feet with her legs folded
under her, and her hands behind her back. (Are they tied?) She looks
up at a man (we can only see him from the back) who holds the middle
of the chain in one hand. If you can show him unfastening his belt, so
much the better.

It would also be good to show Lia with he ragged neckline of the
shift pulled down to fully expose one breast.

Lia: 'If I recall aright, the accepted euphemism is _gavage_.'
