What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Back to the Brothers on Ida, elevated shot of them standing in the landing site of their shuttle, hands on hips, assessing their situation.

Bert: This was not a crime of opportunity.

Bert: Space is too big. We were followed.

Panel 2
Closer two-shot of Ernie and Bert.
Ernie: You know, a newbie Belter I didn't recognize asked me if we were going on a 'treasure hunt.'
Ernie: I said, 'No, where did you hear that?' But he wouldn't elaborate.

Panel 3
Another two-shot of the brothers, put Ernie on the left.
Ernie: Somewhere between our renting the mining equipment and gossipy speculation, somebody decided to follow us here and jump our claim.
Bert: And, oh yeah, kill us in the process.

Panel 4
Medium close-up on Bert.

Bert:They didn't kill us outright, but they might as well have.

Bert: Our suit recyclers can keep us alive for several days until we run out of power. Then we freeze to death.

Panel 5
Medium close-up on Ernie.

Ernie: Then they just mosey on back here, step over our frozen corpses, drill out the mascon and abscond.

Ernie: They could even sell our ship to someone who doesn't ask too many questions.

Panel 6
Two-shot of the brothers, facing each other.

Bert: So what have we got going for us? I guess we could Tanglenet a distress call and hope someone can get here before ...

Ernie: Uh, Bert? You left your comm in the shuttle's console.

Panel 7
Another two-shot

Bert: Oh yeah, you're right. So where's yours?

Ernie: Um …

Panel 8
Medium close-up on Ernie, patting his right chest with his hand.

Ernie: Right here, in my vest pocket, inside my suit.

Ernie: It might as well be on Pluto.
