Strip 505 -- First Seen: 2010-08-13
Escape From Terra is updated with new pages every Monday through Friday.
Kickstarter Success!
The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
All of this should show up in June.
The Transcript For This Page
Panel 1
Large panel, Re-establish scene: The Mass Driver is now just slightly closer to Dactyl than last time we saw the mini-planetoid. The Mass Driver's other end is pointed along Dactyl's orbital path but not directly at Dactyl.
Bert: Will two rocks instead of three or four be enough?
Ernie: Hold on while my ock and optics compute it.
Panel 2
Tight shot, looking over Bert's shoulder at Ernie, who has assumed 'The Thinker' position.
No dialog
Panel 3
Close-up on Ernie, looking back tensely at Bert.
Ernie: Maybe.
Panel 4
Two shot of the brothers, Bert looking exasperated.
Bert: 'Maybe?'
Bert: That is the answer from the most up-to-date, personal on-body computer in human space? 'Maybe?'
Panel 5
Ernie looks levelly at Bert – in a subtle way, he's asserting a leadership attitude.
Ernie: Look, Bert, I said it might be close.
Ernie: We are within a very small margin of error. The variables are too great to come up with a meaningful computation.
Panel 6
Ernie tosses one of the medium-rocks into the conveyor.
Ernie: So let's just take our best shot and hope for the best, okay?
Panel 7
Medium shot of the rear-end of the mass driver, the two medium-rocks shooting out of it.
