What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Outside Wally's bedroom. His parents intercept him coming back from the bathroom.
Gus: Your mother and I would like a word with you.
Wally: I did all my chores.

Panel 2
Cut to the family living room. Gus and Mary-Francis sit on either side of Wally, on the sofa.
Gus: We're concerned about the amount of time you're spending on the Tanglenet.
Mary-Francis: It's just not normal.

Panel 3
Same scene.
Gus: You're always fixated on these obtuse, academic subjects – Italian history, Victorian literature, para-genetics, differential geometry – and now you're compiling traffic data from newzine announcements?
Mary-Francis: That isn't normal either.

Panel 4
Gus lays a fatherly arm across Wally's shoulder, as his mom takes his hand in hers.
Gus: Wally, to make a living out here on the frontier you need to acquire practical knowledge and skills, not all this useless … stuff.
Mary-Francis: We want you to have a normal life.
