Strip 561 -- First Seen: 2010-11-01
Escape From Terra is updated with new pages every Monday through Friday.
QV on a short break
QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.
In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.
Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.
Kickstarter successful and closed
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!
The Transcript For This Page
Panel 1
Reggie and Babbette the Younger are sitting at a table (some room in the King's Court, an 'activities room' of some sort, not the chapel or Reggie's office. This is a flash-back, so Babbette looks younger, about as young as we saw her in her first appearance. But no 'Ceres Spaceport Agent' cap. There is an open textbook on the table in front of them, and she is doing math lessons on an electronic tablet about the size of an Apple iPad, with a stylus. Her expression is one of great sadness. Reggie has a finger on some part of the opened book page but he is noticing her distress.
Caption (Reggie): 'It started when she was 14 Standard Terran years old, and I was tutoring her in math …
Caption: 'She was obviously in deep mental anguish.'
Panel 2
Same shot. Now Reggie is not pointing in the book, but talking to the girl. Babbette hasn't moved at all, still looking at her tablet and not at Reggie.
Reggie: Babbette, before you can concentrate on mathematics, you need to clear your head.
Reggie: You need to address your problem.
Babbette: What problem?
Panel 3
Same shot. Reggie has crossed his arms, and he is staring straight at her with steely eyes. She still hasn't moved but is now looking sideways in his direction.
Reggie: You know what problem, Babbette.
Reggie: I can see it in your eyes and see it in your soul.
Panel 4
Same shot. Reggie hasn't moved, but now Babbette has laid her stylus down and is looking away from him, he face flushed.
No dialog.
