QV on a short break

QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.

In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.

Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.

Kickstarter successful and closed

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Panel 1
Re-establish the center of the scene: Offal-stained Jim and Lili facing off, some scouts around them. Remember zero-gee environs. Lili is looking at Jim levelly. Jim is looking defeated.
Lili: For what it's worth, Jim, I cannot muster any personal sympathy for you.
Lili: I would have stopped them only because I have accepted a duty to protect you and the other Scouts.

Panel 2
Wider shot taking in all the scouts. Lili now all-business, issuing a series of commands.
Lili: So this is what we're going to do:
Lili: The boys will hose you and your suit down in the shower.
Lili: Then we will break camp as though nothing has happened.
Panel 3
Medium close-up on Lili, looking very commanding, casting her gaze across the scouts assembled.
Lili: NO ONE is going to ever mention this again.
Lili: Not to each other, not to your friends, not to your parents and most definitely not to Sv Guzmán.
Lili: We brought his oxygen back up – he thought he had just fallen asleep.
Lili: Let's keep it that way.

Panel 4
Lili moves in closer to Jim, to emphasize her next lines. Camera moves in tighter too. Lili looks deadly, Jim has his chin lowered, looking up at her fearfully. He's whipped.
Lili: And if you ever pull a stunt like that again, I will PERSONALLY space you, got it?

Panel 5
Lili reaches across to Jim (no one really wants to be closer than arm's length to him) and lays a hand upon his shoulder. Her expression is softer now.
Lili: In exchange you will have to promise to be the best Space Scout you can be.
Lili: I know you have it in you, and everyone here will support your Scouting efforts.

Panel 6
Wide shot, Lili and Jim surrounded by scouts, some smiling, some applauding. Jim's face is illuminated, as if a curse has been lifted from him.
Scouts (various, scattered balloons): You bet! Got your back, Jim! Absolutely! Yay! Let's get you cleaned up now, huh?
