Strip 758 -- First Seen: 2011-08-01
Escape From Terra is updated with new pages every Monday through Friday.

QV on a short break

QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.

In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.

Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.

Kickstarter successful and closed

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Establishing shot of Dr. Harmon's research vessel. It resembles Novo Argo only in that it has a rounded bottom and a blimp-shaped airskin covering (three) open decks on topside, and large propellers mounted on pylons coming out of the stern. But it's four times larger, has a contemporary 22nd-Century design, and a flying bridge (like an open pilothouse) positioned just forward of center covered by a 'bimini top' to block the Sun. In the prow there is a 'bowsprit' like Novo Argo's, serving the same practical purpose, but also a pair of extensible mechanical manipulator arms coming from just below what would be the water-line if this thing floated in water.
We can see a few crewmen doing crewmen-things on the open decks.
Harmon (from the ship): Our radar alerted us that you were closing on our position.
Harmon: Your transponder squawked Novo Argo, which I remember you renting.

Panel 2
Medium shot of Harmon in the vessel's bridge. In the background, we can see the pilot at the wheel. Harmon is speaking on his t-comm (like a cell-phone), glancing over his shoulder at the pilot as he speaks.
Harmon: Uh, Waldo, what the hell are you doing here?

Panel 3
Cut to Reggie, on the poop-deck of Novo Argo, talking into his comm in a similar fashion.
Reggie: Well, mostly we wanted to see the creatures you told us about, but we also wanted to tell you about our discovery: air spiders.
Reggie: I just sent some pictures to your comm.
Panel 4
Cut to Harmon, now holding his comm in front of him as it projects an image of one of the air-spiders on a holo-screen just above the device. Harmon looks excited.
Harmon: Wow! We haven't seen anything like that before!
Harmon: We'll have to check them out, thanks!
